Electronic Lifestyles Magazine showases Cantara Award

The 21st Annual CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Magazine celebrating the Entrants and Winners, of the CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Designer Awards announced at this year’s CEDIA EXPO is now available on newsstands and on line.

This year Cantara submitted to CEDIA a theater that was unique with requests from our client that made the design process a lot of fun. While interviewing the client, it became clear they were seeking a room with very rare and special characteristics. Exceptional audio quality, interior acoustics, and structural noise isolation that made no compromises. A huge video image that pushed the boundary on field of view calculations. And… for everything to disappear and convert to a fully functional live performance stage for at-home concerts, holiday plays, and late night karaoke, all complete with a professional stage lighting system. And just one more thing; the room needed to look like it was built 300 years ago.

Our clients absolutely love the final result and enjoy spending time with friends and family in this one of a kind theater. Take a look at the digital edition of Electronic Lifestyles to view this amazing project.

Cantara wins Silver at CEDIA EXPO 2013

Last week the annual CEDIA EXPO was held in Denver, Colorado. CEDIA EXPO is the connecting point for manufacturers, home technology professionals, media, and industry partners. With three full days of networking, brand exposure, and product launches, EXPO is the largest and most respected industry tradeshow.

Every year the Electronic Lifestyles Awards dinner is held on the last night of the tradeshow. This year Cantara was awarded Silver for Best Technical Design of a Home Theater for $1 million and above.

The project would not have been what it was without the incredible architectural design by Richard Krantz and built by Bob Smith. We love designing beautiful home theaters especially when we are working with such a great team.

Cantara Wins for “Amazing Application”

Cantara was honored to be awarded the Silver award for Electronic House’s Home of the Year 2012 Award in the “Amazing Application” category. This category features the most unique and outside-the-box projects imagined and built in the past year.

Cantara’s Blue Room dance club project was the recipient of the award. The project features an incredible mix of professional stage lighting fixtures, custom lighting cue programming, fog machines, and a seat pounding QSC professional audio system.

The name “Blue Room” was given because one of the walls is actually a 3″ thick plexiglass partition between the dance club and the home’s 8 person spa, which has its own lighting effects that change color to the music.
